Deadlines and Important Dates for Autumn Quarter 2009

The following dates are applicable to full-term courses that are not offered through online learning. For deadlines pertaining to any other courses, please refer to your Transaction Summary or call Registration Services at 206-543-2310.

Registration Services is open Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Wednesday Sept. 30 Most classes begin this week
Wednesday Sept. 30 $25 late fee begins
Wednesday Oct. 7 Instructor signature required to add a course as of this date (download Late Add Form)
Tuesday Oct. 20 Last day to register for most courses *
Tuesday Oct. 20 Last day to add a course *
 
Refund Information
(unless another date is noted on your Transaction Summary)
Tuesday Oct. 6 Last day for 100% tuition refund
Thursday Oct. 29 Last day for 50% tuition refund
 
Course Changes, Drops/Withdrawals **

Wednesday Oct. 7 $20 course status change fee begins to change grading option, course transfer, add or drop (unless withdrawing from all courses)
Tuesday Oct. 13 Last day to change to audit from credit or from audit to credit (with instructor's approval)
Tuesday Oct. 13 Last day to withdraw from courses without an entry on permanent UW transcript
Sunday Nov. 15 Final day to change to or from S/NS
Sunday Nov. 15 Last day to exercise your one annual drop option
Friday Dec. 11 Last day to withdraw completely (dropping all courses)
 
End of Quarter
Friday Dec. 11 Last day of instruction
Wednesday Dec. 23 First day grades available on MyUW

* Under exceptional circumstances, a student may petition, in writing, to register or add a course after the applicable registration deadline. If approved, a late fee of $75 will be charged.

** Weekend dates are supported by e-mail and fax requests. For more information on dropping a course, see How to Drop or Withdraw from Courses.
