Tuition and Fees

The cost per undergraduate credit for Summer Quarter is $214 for Arts & Sciences majors and $279 for HIHIM majors. The cost per undergraduate credit for Autumn Quarter is $229 for Arts & Sciences majors and $298 for HIHIM majors. There is no tuition cap for this program. All credits are charged on a per-credit basis. Residents and nonresidents pay the same rate. Students also pay a prorated technology fee,* a prorated services and activities (S&A) fee,** and a quarterly registration fee of $35. There is no credit card convenience fee should you use a credit card for your tuition payment.

Tuition and fees are subject to change.

*  The amount of the technology fee is determined by the total number of credits you take each quarter (see technology fee table). During Summer Quarter, you do not pay the technology fee; while the online registration form will indicate a technology fee, your credit card will not be charged for this fee. During all other quarters, the online registration form will indicate a maximum $41 technology fee for credit card authorization purposes only; when your registration is processed, only the actual prorated fee will be charged to your credit card.

**  The amount of the S&A fee is determined by the total number of credits you take each quarter (see S&A fee table). During our transition to a new online registration system, the S&A fee will not be calculated in the online registration form; when your registration is processed, the prorated fee will be added to your total tuition and your credit card charged accordingly.

  • Payment, or a letter authorizing payment by a third party, must be received at the time of registration. Fees are paid quarter-by-quarter. To avoid late fees, payment must be received prior to the first day of the quarter. Students are not registered without payment. The payment amount must include the total tuition, technology fee, services and activities fee, and a $35 nonrefundable, quarterly registration fee.

  • Financial Aid: Financial aid may be available to Evening Degree students who have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students in the Evening Degree program are not eligible for an institutional tuition waiver or grant programs, including the Husky Promise program. However, it is possible for Evening Degree students who qualify to receive federal and state grants, as well as some institutional scholarships. For more information on eligibility, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at 206-543-6101.

Students with approved or pending financial aid from the UW Office of Student Financial Aid must sign and submit a UW Extension Payment Agreement Form along with their course list and registration form by fax, mail, or in person. (The form is a PDF file; viewing it requires Adobe Reader.) Upon receipt, you will be enrolled in courses under the conditions outlined in the payment agreement form. For complete details regarding financial aid disbursement and instructional fee payment policies, please reference the payment agreement form.

  • Quarterly U-PASS: Once enrolled, you will continue to receive from the University a quarterly Registration Confirmation and Enrollment Validation. Affixed to this form are the quarterly U-PASS and validation sticker. Important instructions regarding the U-PASS, its use, its return, and the payment deadlines will be included.

  • Optional Health Insurance: If you are enrolling in the student health insurance plan, you need to do so by the seventh calendar day of the quarter through MyUW. You will be billed separately for this. Insurance fees and account balances are also available on MyUW. You will find more information about health insurance on the main UW Web site.

  • Payment for health insurance, U-PASS and other optional fees will be billed separately through the University fiscal services with payment due on the third Friday of the quarter.

  • The cost of textbooks is extra.

  • The University's tuition exemption policy does not apply to this program.
